چکیده
Abstract A common practice in scenarios of remote collaboration is to provide a representation from distributed team members, aiming positively influence the level social presence and turn work effort. Nevertheless, these stimuli can lead fractured learning experiences, since collaborators need split attention among task, shared information, counterpart representation. This paper explored how last affects presence, other dimensions collaboration, as well task resolution guidance. user study was conducted, comparing two distinct conditions: traditional video chat (team members always visible) Augmented Reality (AR) annotations (collaborators never available). These were selected due ongoing research with partners industry sector, following insights participatory design process. real-life use-case considered, i.e., synchronous maintenance 4 completion stages that required expert using computer guide 37 on-site participants wielding handheld device. The results are described discussed based on data analysis, showing majority preferred AR-based condition, despite absence

Remote Collaboration Using Augmented Reality Videoconferencing
This paper describes an Augmented Reality Videoconferencing System, which is a novel remote collaboration tool combining a desktop-based AR system and a videoconference module. The novelty of our system is the combination of these tools with AR applications superimposed on live video background displaying the conference parties’ real environment, merging the advantages of the natural face-to-fa...
متن کاملA projected augmented reality system for remote collaboration
This paper describes an AR system for remote collaboration using a captured 3D model of the local user’s scene. In the system a remote user can manipulate the scene independently of the view of the local user and add AR annotations that appear projected into the real world. Results from a pilot study and the design of a further full study are presented.

Qualification of employees who operate technological processes directly influences the safety of production. However, the employees’’ qualification cannot completely exclude human factor. Today, there are many technologies that can minimize or eliminate human factor impact on production safety ensuring. The augmented reality technology is an example of this technology. Nowadays, the augmented r...

Some applications require a person in a remote location (the trainer), to instruct another person (the trainee) on how to put together a number of objects according to a precise set of spatial relationships. In this paper we report the results of using a collaborative Mixed Reality application that allows the trainer to manipulate the virtual objects in a virtual environment. At the same time, ...
متن کاملRemote Hands-On Experience: Distributed Collaboration with Augmented Reality
One claim of Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) is to support and exploit benefits from distance learning and remote collaboration. On the other hand, several approaches to learning emphasize the importance of handson experience. Unfortunately, these two goals don't go well together with traditional learning techniques. Even though TEL technologies can alleviate this problem, it is not sufficie...
